Summary / Role Purpose Join the Ansys Student Internship Program to apply your education to solve real world problems, advance career skills, and experience work at Ansys. This position is part of the Ansys Customer Excellence (ACE) team, focused on Optics. You will use Ansys products to create and apply Ansys simulation solutions in a variety of optics-related industries. As an intern, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to complete important projects and advance your knowledge in the field. You will network with other interns and Ansys global leaders. At the end of the internship, you will present your work to your peers and manager. The internship will run from May 2025 through August 2025. Key Duties and Responsibilities Develop technical expertise in at least one Ansys Optics product: Lumerical, Speos, Zemax. Create new simulation methodologies, troubleshoot problem set-ups, run simulation benchmarks, and update industry best practices pertaining to modeling and simulation of engineered products & processes. On an as-needed basis, support the team by conducting demonstrations, webinars, online training, and other meetings. Collaborate with the Ansys product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features; test new releases of Ansys products on industrial problems. Assist in reviewing and updating online tutorial content. Write detailed technical reports and present results to global Ansys teams. Network within the Ansys Customer Excellence team to learn various job functions such as pre-sales support, post-sales technical support, consulting services, etc. Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience Required education and degree type: Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Sciences, Applied Physics or related field. Minimum 3.0 GPA in graduate studies, or 3.5 in undergraduate. Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills;fluent in writing and speaking English. Demonstrated experience with optical modeling tools (e.g. Ansys Zemax OpticStudio, Ansys Speos, Synopsys CodeV, etc.). Preferred Qualifications and Skills Currently enrolled as an engineering graduate student (M.S. or Ph.D.) in an accredited United States university. Ph.D. students should be entering third year or beyond of their program. Experience with programming in Matlab, Python, Mathematica, C++, or C#. Experience with programming repositories such as GitHub or Mercurial. Experience in customer-facing and leadership roles. Proficient in developing learning plans and teaching in technical settings.
