We are looking for a specialist in Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs), particularly with a background in research, design and development of PETs for privacy-preserving data sharing, experimentation, and Machine Learning. What you'll do: Be at the forefront of bringing Privacy-Enhancing Technologies to Pinterest Provide expert input on the development and use of privacy-enhancing technologies - and the intersection with business Lead research and analysis efforts regarding regarding how privacy-enhancing technologies can be used to build scalable data handling in ads data reporting, ML, and experimentation Work closely with XFNs to drive projects from idea formulation to design and implementation What we're looking for: 8+ years of combined post-graduate academic and industry experience applying scientific methods to solve real-world problems on web-scale data Practical knowledge of PETs, principles and practices Strong fundamentals in Mathematics Proven ability to apply scientific methods to solve real-world problems on web-scale data Proficiency in SQL/Hive/Python Excellent communication skills: able to explain complex technical terms to audience with diverse context knowledge Ads domain knowledge. Strong focus on understanding ads domain and advertiser-focused objectives, measuring ad effectiveness, or similar Experimentation at web scale. Familiarity with online experimentation and its pitfalls ML modeling, ideally with biased / incomplete training data. Has built models end to end (feature design, feature selection, training data, implementation, iteration, productionisation) and can intelligently discuss trade-offs / decisions at each step Experience in the strategic analytics side of data science: shaping decisions rather than just building solutions Relocation Statement: This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
