Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, KCIA in Seattle, Washington

Can you deliver mission critical large cross-team projects? Are you equally comfortable digging into business requirements as drilling into architecture with development teams? Do you excel at delivering results?

We are looking for a Senior TPM (Technical Program Manager) with strong business focus and technical acumen to take our Books Risk Management product to the next level. This is a new, multitenant set of systems for Content policy and risk management. You will deliver projects that cross team and organizational boundaries, delivering results for multiple businesses. This role’s scope includes defining strategy, processes and technical requirements, and leading cross functional and cross org teams from design through delivery. You will be accountable for driving the entire product lifecycle, from identifying the right technical investments, to technical architecture, specification, coding, quality assurance and launch to the world, partnering with Product Managers and business stakeholders. You will influence engineering teams to build the right solutions.

This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, have strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure. You will accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments backed by strong tech chops and business insight, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done at the right time.

The scope of the role includes:

  • Collaboration with product managers, business stakeholders and technical and science teams in multiple businesses, to define the think big vision, strategy and roadmap

  • Prioritizing delivery across multiple teams

  • Leading cross-org, cross-functional tech teams from design through delivery

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
