Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, Asset Management in Seattle, Washington

If so, this job aligns perfect as our team is responsible for all aspects related to IT Asset Management and Business Operations. Amazon is seeking a TPM, Asset Manager to serve as the operational lead for the corporate hardware asset management system.

You will operate as the subject matter expert responsible for performance and day-to-day operation of our internal tools and processes. This data is increasingly leveraged by a broad user base, and this specialist will be central to a number of cross-team initiatives, both centrally and across distributed business teams. You will oversee day-to-day operations of the AM environment, including detailed understanding and oversight of data sources for inventory usage, contract entitlement data maintenance, user management and enablement, data integrity, compliance analysis, renewal/milestone calendaring, and innovative reporting solutions. In this role you will be responsible for scoping and delivering large projects end-to-end. Responsibilities include collection of business requirements from customers, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. You will lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts between internal teams, external teams and partners to develop optimal solutions for new features.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical and analytical skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, a work ethic based on a desire to exceed expectations, and excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communication.

As an Asset Management TPM, your role will involve managing and optimizing the assets of an organization to maximize their value and efficiency. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of various assets, including financial investments, real estate properties, equipment, and intellectual property. Your primary goal will be to ensure that assets are utilized effectively, generate maximum returns, and align with the organization's strategic objectives. As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you will anticipate bottlenecks, review technical designs, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a timely manner.

Key job responsibilities

Asset Acquisition and Disposition:

Identify and evaluate potential asset acquisitions or investments based on financial analysis and market research.

Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements during asset transactions.

Portfolio Management:

Monitor the performance of the organization's asset portfolio and make recommendations for adjustments or improvements.

Conduct regular evaluations and risk assessments of assets to determine their financial viability.

Optimize asset allocation and diversification strategies to maximize returns and minimize risk.

Track asset condition, performance, and depreciation, and recommend replacement or refurbishment when necessary.

Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare accurate and timely reports on asset performance, valuation, and financial metrics.

Analyze asset-related data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to asset management.

Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with asset management activities.

Implement risk management strategies to protect the organization's assets and investments.

• Identify issues, improvement opportunities, and risks for escalation

• Identify key data requirements and information throughout the organization

• Coordinates with other stakeholders to resolve complex licensing queries and issues

• Improve overall organizational capability through systems, processes, and talent development.

• Work closely with a team of ITS Program/Product Managers to drive the collection and implementation of technology requirements, ensure alignment with corporate objectives and contractual obligations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
