Amazon Sr. Regulatory Specialist, AWS Security Assurance in Seattle, Washington
Description

The AWS Security Assurance and Compliance team is responsible for developing the strategies for AWS to meet its regulatory and compliance obligations and demonstrating the security and resilience of AWS services to our customers. At AWS’s scale, we must invent new ways to provide the highest level of compliance and assurance to meet our global obligations and meet the expectations of our most regulatory conscious customers.
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior regulatory expert to join our team. As part of our team, you will dive deep to understand the key areas of our business (AWS Services, Networking, Infrastructure Operations, Security, etc.) as well as the regulatory and compliance obligations and expectations applicable to AWS and help develop the strategies to meet those obligations and expectations for AWS. Our team solves complex compliance challenges, improves processes, and drives greater efficiencies across the security assurance organization. This role facilitates our ability to identify and evaluate our obligations and implement mechanisms to ensure we consistently meet the high bar of compliance. This allows us to grow and scale our internal compliance processes to meet the compliance and regulatory expectations in markets and industries around the globe.
You should be an experienced industry professional that has the ability to understand IT and compliance processes, evaluate opportunities for improvement, and to be able to drive innovative campaigns through multiple organizations and teams. You should be able to dive deep into the operations of AWS compliance programs to develop broad domain and technical understanding of key areas of AWS’s business and emerging technologies.
Key job responsibilities
Monitor regulatory developments applicable to AWS and our regulated customers and help analyze the impact of those developments for multiple teams and executives in AWS
Work with the AWS lines of business to implement the necessary changes, identified through proactive and ongoing monitoring of regulatory requirements, to prepare for and meet/exceed forthcoming regulatory expectations
Work with teams across AWS engaging in customer assurance including as part of the contracting process to support negotiations related to regulatory and compliance requirements
Lead and manage projects and campaigns with excellent project management skills
Communicate with senior leadership the status and key deliverables of team initiatives, seek diverse opinions and coordinate improvement efforts
Dive deep into the operations of AWS compliance programs to develop broad domain and technical understanding of regulatory and customer expectations to drive process improvement initiatives
Bridge communication with both technical engineering and business teams to successfully capture and implement business requirements
Operate a quality rhythm of the business for managing regulatory expectations

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related fields, or equivalent experience
6+ years of experience in project / program management in a technical field
6+ years of IT security audit, compliance and/or relevant regulatory experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with monitoring and automating security controls
Have a record of delivery of IT process improvement projects with technology processes and/or major tech companies
Experience with cloud technologies
Experience with artificial intelligence and/or machine learning technologies
Experience with performing technical assessments and documentation of network, operating systems, application security, as well as auditing IT processes
Experience with understanding of evaluating the design and effectiveness of IT controls

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
