Amazon Sr. Program Manager, Content Strategy, Selling Partner Developer Services in Seattle, Washington

Description

Would you like to join a team focused on producing high-quality technical documentation for developers working on the behalf of thousands of Amazon’s selling partners globally? Do you have a passion for helping customers learn, a strong understanding of content development processes, and a knack for making processes faster and easier?

Our team owns global products and programs that enable software developer customers to integrate with REST APIs to automate the businesses of Amazon’s Selling Partners. Our documentation team plays a key role in helping our customers to get started quickly, ensuring that the technical details of our products are clearly described and easy to understand. We are looking for an experienced program manager to own a portfolio of strategic content programs spanning: communications, localization, systems management, analytics and reporting, and UX. Program management of these initiatives requires successful collaboration across cross-functional teams, including technical content writers, solution architects, product management, developer support, training & certification, analytics, and marketing.

The ideal candidate will have serious customer obsession and broad experience working on global, cross-functional content programs, with team leadership, program management, or project management experience. You must be comfortable, as a self-starter, with demonstrable curiosity, in a fast-paced, high-energy and ambiguous environment. You must be used to dealing with tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders, and have a proactive approach to problem solving. You will have experience digging into data to discover pain points and developing broad content strategy that solves those problems, creating a best in class user experience through documentation. And you should have deep expertise in creating standards, tooling solutions, and visions for content portfolios and systems.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and run execution of a broad content portfolio program from planning through post-launch measurement.

  • Create and evangelize strategies to measure and improve content quality, maintainability, and usability and get agreement from stakeholders to execute against these strategies

  • Gain support for recommended programs using strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

  • Collaborate with customers at all levels to gather requirements, define objectives & deliver results.

  • Build and maintain documentation deliverables, dashboards, and communication materials for portfolio programs.

  • Present and lead conversations about projects, issues, solutions, and strategy to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Host and/or facilitate sessions to deeply understand the impacts of system or process changes and aggregate feedback across markets, verticals and global teams.

  • Prioritize effectively and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization.

  • Find and analyze large sets of data and create actionable insights that help content intake teams make customer-focused decisions.

  • Deploy metrics to track progress against program metrics, report monthly on progress, and define annual goals.

  • Work with sales, support, and solution architect community to find opportunities to introduce new processes or tools aligned with organizational strategy to improve productivity and customer happiness.

About the team

The vision of Selling Partner Developer Services API Release and Globalization team is to externalize quality, global API data products with speed and scale via a self-service experience supported by comprehensive, accessible multi-language documentation to simplify building, migrating to, or integrating with Amazon APIs.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

    • Bachelors Degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related field
    • Experience copywriting and editing documents and managing content/editorial calendars
    • Demonstrated program management skills with experience in influencing others outside of direct line of reporting, and advocating on behalf of the customer
    • Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
    • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguous situations, identify and solve for blockers with minimal guidance, know how to influence, build cross-organizational partnerships

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
