Amazon Sr. Product Manager - Technical, Prime Video in Seattle, Washington

Prime Video is an industry leading, high-growth business and a critical driver of Amazon Prime subscriptions, which contribute to customer loyalty and lifetime value. Prime Video is used daily by a massive audience on Amazon's websites and through a variety of devices including the Kindle Fire, game consoles, smart TVs and Blu-ray players. Prime Video is a digital video streaming and download service that offers Amazon customers the ability to rent, purchase or subscribe to a huge catalog of videos.

The Video Content Research team uses machine learning, econometrics, and data science to optimize Amazon’s streaming-video catalogue, driving customer engagement and Prime member acquisition. We generate insights to guide Amazon’s digital-video strategy, including using detailed customer behavioral data (e.g. streaming history) and information about content (e.g. IMDb-sourced characteristics) to predict and understand what customers like to watch.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager - Tech to accelerate our team's innovation by owning the roadmap for our content valuation models, which are used by content-acquisition, finance, strategy, and marketing teams to decide what shows to make or license, and how well they performed. The Product Manager will lead communication with business and finance leaders, coordinate with teams across Prime Video and Amazon Studios to understand user needs, and manage the roadmap to balance innovation and customer support.

Key job responsibilities

  • Envision the ideal customer experience for how the team's tools and insights flow into stakeholder decision-making

  • Own product development end-to-end

  • Collaborate closely with business, engineering, and science teams to understand the business decision process, what changes are being made to the valuation framework, and how end users will see and be affected by those changes

  • Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks, and change management

  • Identify and promote process changes to increase completeness and efficiency

  • Write effective narratives and present them to senior leadership

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of end to end product delivery experience

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
