Amazon Sr. Product Development Manager, Hardlines Private Brands in Seattle, Washington

If yes, we need you in the Private Label business. The Global Hardlines Private Label team is looking for a customer-obsessed Global Product Development Manager to help drive one of the most exciting categories at Amazon.com. In this role, you will be responsible for development pipeline sufficiency for your owned category at global level (NA, EU and JP), develop and launch product on-time and on-target. To achieve these, you will be in charge of:

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate should be passionate about products, have strong product development skills as well as outstanding project management abilities. They should also feel comfortable dealing with ambiguity, driving stakeholder engagement and working in a very entrepreneurial environment. The Global Product Development Manager should be able to interact with and influence multiple teams across the organization (Globally).

Traits of success:

Understand market trends, customer needs to define and prioritize product development focus for coming 3yrs

Ability to dive deep on data metrics across regions to develop product development line plan

Ability to make trade-off for proper prioritization setting between global vs. region, between speed vs. quality

Manage product lifecycle from ideation through commercialization.

Be a smart, hard-working and creative person who loves products, loves solving difficult problems and "getting it done, on time."

Be comfortable collaborating and influencing team members including business managers, sourcing, legal, patent, social compliance and product compliance.

Be responsible for building and executing on new initiatives and roadmaps each year.

Partner with country teams to launch products globally.

Have the technical aptitude to quickly grasp complex technical issues and communicate directly with technical teams.

About the team

The mission of Hardlines Private Brands (HPB) is to build the most trusted and loved brands on Amazon, improving the customer experience and driving incremental profit for Amazon. We deliver a product assortment that offers incremental value for customers in terms of sustainability, reliability, safety, availability, price and speed compared to competitive products, which reinforces Amazon’s low price-high value perception and drives repeat store visits. We drive growth by clearly communicating to our customers through a streamlined brand which helps them make faster and easier purchase decisions amidst the vast array of similar products sold in Amazon’s stores.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience as a product manager or owner

  • Experience owning technology products

  • Experience with product cycles of 6+ months

  • Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
