The role is for the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit. You will be responsible for the overall physical integration and packaging of the structural, mechanical, fluids, avionics, wire harness components and assemblies within the integrated vehicle. Responsibilities: Define and manage Mechanical Interfaces between subsystems and develop Mechanical System requirements and constraints Manage mass allocations, mass budget allocations, keep out zones, and plume impingement configurations at the vehicle level Design assessments for integrated manufacturing, assembly, and testing to improve overall quality and reduce costs. Own and manage the vehicle Master Equipment List Conduct regular Mechanical Configuration reviews to address module level interfaces. Cross-functional change management process Create trade and impact studies to assist in development of new programs and upgrades. Vehicle-level mass properties calculation, reporting, and measurement. Support vehicle assembly, integration, and test activities on the assembly floor and at the launch site Qualifications: B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related subject area 10+ years of professional experience developing integrated systems. Strong design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software and experience with large and complex assembly management (Creo Pro/E preferred), 2D Drawings, Model Based Definition and top-down design techniques. Ability to obtain a US Government TS-SCI clearance Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired (but not required): Experience designing and developing flight proven spacecraft hardware Proficient in PTC windchill PLM system Strong knowledge of GD&T practices with tolerance stack-up analysis Experience with requirements management (DOORS Next preferred) Strong preference for Active TS-SCI clearance Compensation Range for: CA applicants is $146,644.50-$205,302.30;WA applicants is $146,644.50-$205,302.30 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
