Job Information
Amazon Sr. Manager, Solutions & Innovation (S&I) , Global Procurement Operations Reusables Team (GPORT) in Seattle, Washington
Description
At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on Earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. If you'd like to help us build the place to find and buy anything online, this is your chance to make history.
The Sr. Manager, Solutions & Innovation has a broad, global mandate to plan for, innovate within, implement, and solve containerization and palletization challenges. These solutions start with primary reusable asset availability to the internal customer but have the breadth of the total, holistic solution across the entire spectrum of the supply chain, upstream, downstream, and adjacent.
This role develops new concepts, operating models, and leads a Global Solutions & Innovation (S&I) group that starts at the internal customer, in real-time, and then works backwards – building a vision and then operationalizing it - that includes multi-year forecasting and the programs and team to accomplish this.
You will own the communication, coordination, and execution of long-term, multi-year program vision for containerization and palletization solutions and key strategic initiatives across North America and beyond. You will provide ownership and act as a catalyst for change, evangelist and entrepreneur for the global team, while serving as the vanguard for the business in new use cases, programs, and implementation methods.
You will be responsible for assuring program success and evolving existing programs by innovating in order to continue to be relevant to internal customers and creating new ones from scratch as a startup owner, if required.
Key job responsibilities
o Lead a team that sees three levels above, three steps ahead, and at a level of planning depth that aligns GPO containerization / palletization requirements at the point of operational inception. Lead existing programs and evolve them to the next level.
o Design and model the most cost-effective method of the circular loop that maintains containerization and palletization assets in constant flow across the network.
o Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives to continuously improve overall customer experience and continuity of supplies.
o Work cross functionally to identify and build best practices and process improvements, while also supporting new strategic initiatives and business opportunities for the broader organization.
o Work with leadership to build projects from initial development to implementation that will streamline processes to drive operational improvements.
o Build a team vision and framework that creates quality analyses on a day-to-day basis, with broad, detailed, and frequent executive communication as its output. Build business reviews that clearly communicate to internal and external stakeholders.
o Create forums and mechanisms that build buy-in for the vision with key senior internal partners.
o Create OP1/OP2, 3YP, and SPS documents and lead future planning; influences upwards and outwards across upper-level team programs and assists org-wide global strategic initiatives.
