Job Summary and Mission

This Senior Analyst Commercial Development position contributes to Nestlé Coffee Partners (NCP) success by leveraging customer POS, shipment, and forecasting data to develop strategies with commercial development director and managers in support of the At-Home-Coffee (AHC) Starbucks brand . The Commercial Development team serves as the conduit between Marketing, Operations, Forecasting teams and our Consumer Product Goods (CPG) Customer Management teams. This position translates multiple sources of data and information into business opportunities and executable plans while serving as the voice of the CPG customer into the category.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Represents the AHC Starbucks business needs as a priority within the NCP Go To Market strategy and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) in order to facilitate achievement of sales objectives.

  • Analyze business trends - both internal and competitive - at key retailers and markets to identify and communicate trends.

  • Develop and deploy clear communication and cohesive business plans to CPG/3rd party retail partner and customer management teams.

  • Communicate with customer forecasting leads to ensure the business demand and supply forecasts adequately service retail partners and meet customer needs.

  • Champion business building ideas based on customer and customer team communications and market/customer analyses.

  • Lead ongoing business updates and reporting with cross-functional partners designed to drive business goals.

  • Understand the key business drivers at each Tier 1 and Tier 2 customer to identify opportunities for growth

  • Exhibit strong business acumen and financial discipline when constructing and selling ideas and solutions.

  • Educate multi-functional business partners on requirements of CPG customers.

  • Lead key inputs and collaboration with field sales, as well as demand planning regarding Distribution opportunities, tracking and results to deliver AOP.

Summary of Experience

  • 4+ years’ analytical experience in a sales / sales planning Function, with consumption/POS and/or shipment data with major CPG customers across multiple categories and at multiple levels with a CPG manufacturer and/or a CPG customer.

  • 3+ years’ experience: leveraging multi-functional resources, selling a product, managing a category, or building sales marketing plans within a global CPG company.

  • 3+ years’ experience executing product strategy and sales plans with a CPG company

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically has a University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of related work experience

  • High School diploma/GED or 4+ years of US military service or more years of experience in a role performing sales planning job functions

  • Preferably, has experience calling on a CPG customer with responsibilities including new item presentations, promotional presentations, seasonal presentations, strategic collaborative planning presentations etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities

  • Ability to successfully track and analyze business with very strong excel skills and analytical capabilities that can enable critical decision-making.

  • Ability to build diverse, collaborative relationships.

  • Ability to align strategy, leverage multi-functional resources, and shopper marketing analytics

  • Understands the CPG industry and how the Sales Planning role enables the sales teams to sell

  • Possesses some Financial Acumen, ability to negotiate and reach win/win agreements

  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

The approximate target compensation range for this role is $95,000 to $120,000 . Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
