Amazon Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, Selling Partner Promotions in Seattle, Washington

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Promotions team. Our team vision is to create an ecosystem in which customers can find a wide range of compelling promotional discounts across Amazon, and selling partners can grow their businesses through creating attractive offers to customers.

In this position, you will help define and manage goals and key performance metrics, as well as perform data deep dives to draw insights about selling partner and customer behavior that will impact product roadmaps, influence business outcomes, and contribute to documents for senior team members. The ideal candidate is a big thinker who obsesses over solving the most important customer problems, as well as an organized self-starter who breaks down projects into small pieces and adjusts plans based on customer feedback and the most recent learnings. This role entails stakeholder management, requiring coordination with worldwide partner teams, category teams, and finance.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling

  • Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field

  • Experience with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.

  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
