Amazon Business Supplier Experience Science and Analytics team is looking for a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer to excel at product and service pricing. Amazon Business (AB) represents an incredible opportunity to address a vast new market segment and customer base for Amazon. We are focused on building solutions that enable B2B customers to find and buy products and services across multiple devices and marketplaces. The Amazon Business Science and Analytics team owns the data driven decision making for key AB problems including price setting, selection additions and operations optimization. You will build the analytics and the supporting structures needed to analyze, dive deep, and innovate the pricing strategies. You will also have the opportunity to present findings to cross functional team partners to drive improvements. You will work closely with the Product/Program Managers, Data Engineers, Applied/Research/Data Scientists, Economists and Software Development Engineers to solve challenging problems. You need be comfortable using intellect, curiosity and technical ability to develop innovative solutions to business problems. You need learn different aspects of the business and understand how to build or apply analytics tools to solve high impact business problems. You will be expected to provide clear and concise explanation to results and approaches as well as provide opinion and guidance on problem solving.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding leadership skills, proven ability to develop, enhance, automate, and manage science models from end to end. The ideal candidate will have strong data mining and analytical skills and will be comfortable facilitating think big ideas and working from concept through to execution. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated ability to manage medium-scale automation and modeling projects, identify requirements and build methodology and tools that are mathematically grounded but also explainable operationally, and apply analytical skills to adapt to changing attributes.

Key job responsibilities

• Work closely with the BIEs, DEs and Scientists in the team and collaborate effectively with product managers to create scalable solutions for business problems.

• Create program goals and related metrics, track progress, and manage through obstacles to help team achieve objectives

• Identify opportunities for improvement or automation in existing data processes and lead the changes using your business acumen and data handling skills.

• Use the best practice on data integrity, design, test, implementation, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

• Mentor and guide junior members in the team.

• Contribute to supplier operations strategy development based on data analysis

• Lead strategic projects to formalize and scale organizational processes

• Build and manage weekly, monthly and quarterly business review metrics.

• Build data reports and dashboards: Leverage your data skills and technical means (SQL, Excel, etc.) to improve on business efficiency across programs.

Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

  • Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field

  • Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

  • Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.

  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
