Amazon Sr. Business Analyst (L6), Search Marketing in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Search Marketing organization is looking for an experienced Sr. Business Analyst to lead and manage paid search program performance, reporting, planning, and analysis of the Search Marketing channel (inclusive of Paid Shopping & Text Ads, and Earned Search). You will create reporting mechanisms to understand customer behavior and deliver insights explaining business trends, and conduct deep dives into performance trends and issues throughout the funnel accessing internal and external data sources, in turn supporting our mission to scale the business globally - i.e. drive web site traffic, generate demand, and help grow our Search Marketing efforts globally.

You will own performance reporting and drive business reviews. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders, both internal and external, to launch and scale new programs. You will generate insights from large, disparate marketing performance data sets to inform marketing strategy and explain business performance.

A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. You will have a proven track record taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. At the core of the position is owning business performance, reporting, and analysis for the Global Search Marketing Organization. This requires high attention to detail and delivering high quality results on time. This is a high-visibility position with scope for creativity and self-development. You will develop a detailed understanding of digital marketing and understand the long-term financial impact of international customer behavior trends. The role requires a highly analytical mindset as well as a curiosity to seek out new possibilities to scale across traffic channels. You should be strong at and attracted to the analytical and technical side of marketing with experience with financial reporting and data visualization, as well as performance marketing competencies, thus enabling you to extract insights from disparate data sources to explain customer dynamics as well as delivering recommendations and action plans to make tactical and strategic changes to react.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead development and improvement of performance reporting, analysis, and business reviews for the Global Search Marketing Organization

  • Derive insights from data; Synthesize data into succinct narrative and bridges to enable business and leadership to make investment and strategy decisions

  • Develop and automate market-segment reports to enable business team to understand impact of targeted initiatives

  • Build cohesive full-funnel reporting and visualize, explain, and deliver narratives on how input metrics are impacting the performance of the channel

  • Conduct analysis on marketing experiments to understand how changes are affecting the customer experience and to deliver entitlement estimations for scaled solutions

  • Expand repository of sample analyses methods to build cross-team knowledge of common ad hoc analysis workflows

  • Deliver action plans to react to trends in data

  • Challenge current setup/approach, identifying new opportunities for responding to market trends based upon analysis

  • Improve asset reporting and creative optimization reporting views to accelerate ad, extension, and organic listing optimization

  • Act as liaison and primary Search Marketing point of contact Business to finance, BI, global partners, and leadership stakeholders, and effectively collaborate with other marketing channels to build cross-channel

  • Write effectively to report on progress against goals and learning/insights from tests.

  • The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience owning enterprise performance marketing campaigns (Paid Search and/or Paid Social) in an analyst role

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in financial/business analysis

  • 6+ years of Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering , analytics, mathematics, statistics or a related technical or quantitative field

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

  • Experience with Excel

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

  • 5+ years experience with Search Marketing: Managing campaigns via Google Ads, Bing Ads, Pinterest.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
