Amazon Sr Business Analyst, Amazon Fresh Selection & Merchandising in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Business Analyst (BA) will be responsible for Amazon Fresh Selection & Merchandising tool and dashboard creation, enhancement, and maintenance. The BA will work across multiple stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize functionality and launch reporting that provides insight into Selection & Merchandising decision-making and overall selection quality in building phase and at the shelf.

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, have a strong understanding of technical concepts, be comfortable with ambiguity, and is customer-focused. You will have a proven track record taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. You should have deep expertise in working with large complex datasets, writing complex SQLs, deriving insights from data, bringing data from disparate sources together, and developing visualizations. You should have excellent business acumen and communication skills to be able to work with stakeholders to define business requirements and develop business metrics.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, improvement and maintenance of ongoing and ad-hoc Selection & Merchandising reports and analyses

  • Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format

  • Scale automated solutions and collect stakeholder feedback to drive improvement over time

  • Engage business stakeholders in constructive dialogues to convert business problems into logic problems that can be solved with data and visualizations

  • Expand repository of sample analyses methods to build cross-team knowledge of common ad-hoc analysis workflows

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

  • 6+ years of Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) experience

  • 3+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experience

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

  • Experience with QuickSight dashboard and visual creation

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Master's degree in business or analytical discipline

  • 5+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience

  • 5+ years of business or financial analysis experience

  • 5+ years of Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) experience

  • Prior experience in Retail, Consumables, and/or Supply Chain Management industry

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
