Amazon Software Development Manager, World Wide Stores Accessibility in Seattle, Washington
Description
Are you interested in inventing experiences that equalize the way customers discover and purchase products? Do you have a passion for raising the bar for disability inclusion? Do you want to build and launch features on the Amazon retail app and site? If yes, you should help us lead our Accessibility Customer Experience (ACE) engineering team. Our ACE team prioritizes the customer, building mechanisms to collect feedback and launching experimental features. Partner with a product manager and designer to innovate and develop new ways of supporting Amazon's customers with disabilities.
Key job responsibilities
As the Software Development Manager (SDM) for our ACE team, you will lead a talented group of engineers working on a range of internal systems and launching away team features. You’ll work closely with a Product Manager to develop a strategic roadmap and engage teams across Amazon.
We are looking for a Software Development Manager who is customer obsessed, and thrives in a complex ambiguous environment. The role requires strategic thinking, solid communication, and project management skills. You know how to help engineers navigate priorities and manage expectations with partner teams. You should be knowledgeable of web development, testing, and have familiarity with accessibility.
We need individuals with demonstrated ability to learn quickly, think big, execute both strategically and tactically, motivating their team to deliver business values to our partner teams.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of engineering team management experience
7+ years of engineering experience
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
