The Workforce Solutions team builds and delivers world-class products/services for Amazon’s hourly associates, approaching 1 million worldwide. We believe that happy Amazon customers start with happy Amazon employees!

As an engineer on this team, you will be given the opportunity to independently own driving improvements to our existing technology, while also designing and developing new products and interfaces. Your solutions will provide the ultimate customer experience. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about building a software system that can be operated at global scale. Key job responsibilities

• Drive the development of the end-to-end services and processes to give Amazon hourly associates options for pay, training, and job choices

• Build the most extensive pay premium, job training, and career mobility options on earth

• Use modern technologies to solve complex problems at scale

• Deliver solutions that scale in volume and handle the complexity of diverse workflows and country specific rules/regulations.

• Own automation of business processes in a full stack, mostly server-less environment using proven, as well as evolving native AWS services and other technologies to create a friction free user experience.

• Solve the challenging problem of scaling these services to serve hundreds of thousands of Amazonians across the globe in real-time

• Be a technical innovator that is not afraid to challenge the norms and innovate.

• Execute against project plans and delivery commitments.

• Build highly available, scalable, and performant tier-one services to power responsive, intuitive, and sleek experiences for customers.

• Solve complex business and technical problems by diving deep, collecting data to make well informed decisions, and using sound judgement in the face of insufficient data.

• Work with the latest technologies to innovate on behalf of the associates.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
