This includes password-auth, token-based MFA, rules-based/fine-grained/contextual authorization, operations and governance systems. We’re seeking Software Development Engineers to drive the next generation of authentication, solving problems for which there are no off-the-shelf solutions. In this role, you’ll be working with a group of strong engineers in pursuit of timely and secure authentication and authorization services on top of effective data sovereignty, compliance with regional privacy regulations, integration with a wide array of applications and services, and delivery of a fantastic customer experience.

Key job responsibilities

The team owns multiple high-availability, low-latency services (Tier-1) and hold ourselves accountable to rigorous service-level objectives and design & code quality standards. Our tech stack ranges across multiple AWS public offerings and includes Java, Python, Fargate, Typescript, DynamoDB, Lambdas, SQS, and more. Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

  • Experience with scalable web applications and distributed services development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
