Amazon Software Development Engineer II, Shoppable Content in Seattle, Washington

The Shoppable Content Organization is transforming Amazon.com by helping customers discover and be inspired by new products from Creators and Influencers across the globe.

Our vision is that every customer will see personalized, engaging and helpful Shoppable Content at relevant stages of their shopping journey both on and off Amazon. Every compelling ASIN on Amazon will have multiple pieces and different types of quality content, that can be used across the funnel from browsing and scrolling through a feed for inspiration to closing the deal. We make it easy and worthwhile for creators to create great content for Amazon, that empowers the customer journey, driving exposure that comes with earnings and fame & love.

As part of the Content Creation team within Shoppable Content, you will be responsible for helping to build the tools and services that Creators use to create Shoppable Content (thinking Shoppable Photos, Shoppable Videos, Idea Lists, etc). The Team:

We are a cross-functional team of engineers, scientists, product managers, and business managers with a vision to increase the quality and quantity of Shoppable Content at Amazon, and increase the number of customers that interact and see this content on a daily basis!

Your Role:

You have a passion to create engaging and high-quality consumer experiences and products. You are preferably a full-stack developer with strong track record of building back-end services and some front-end experiences. You have excellent project management skills, are a great communicator and are motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced, and at times ambiguous, environment.

You should be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving. Clear communication and prioritization will be important as you plan, design, and deliver the best experience for millions of customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
