As a senior project manager on the Design & Construction Services team, you will be defining standards and implementing processes and tools that support construction operations in Store Development. You will leverage and share your expertise in purchasing, cost management, contract management, construction management, and schedule management to deliver new ways of working to hundreds of field partners.

As a senior project manager on the construction services team, you will:

  • Develop a comprehensive job role training program for both internal and outsource partners that spans across multiple roles in Starbucks Store Development by combining best practices and the input of a team of subject matter experts.

  • Identify areas of improvement within existing standard procedures and lead cross-functional groups to affect change across the construction organization

  • Lead strategic business enhancements for construction partners, suppliers, and service providers

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • 5+ years project management, including all elements of scope, time, cost, risk, quality, integration, procurement and communications.

  • 5 years managing complex large-scale or multiple mid-sized projects

  • 5 years building and mentoring teams

  • 2 years mentoring other project managers in program and project management

  • 5 years General business experience in large, matrixed organizations

  • Supporting construction project delivery or at least 2 at Starbucks preferred

  • Managing purchases, contract changes & payments preferred

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, to partners at all levels, both internal and external to Starbucks

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to identify project milestones and deliverables needed to achieve an end goal

  • Ability to influence and lead others through change

  • Ability to serve as a representative for regional partners by anticipating needs and challenges before they occur

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Compass, and Teams

  • Ability to define objectives, scope and resources for projects extending beyond Store Development

  • General knowledge of Starbucks Store Development and Construction processes and systems

  • Ability to establish cross functional, collaborative relationships with business partners

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, from initial justification through implementation and evaluation

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
