Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, Security Finance in Seattle, Washington
Description
Security is "job zero" at Amazon, by which we mean it’s even more important than any number one priority. As a key strategic partner to senior Security leaders, the Amazon Security Finance team plays a vital role in building a robust security culture.
Join us as a Senior Financial Analyst and become an integral part of this dynamic team. This role goes beyond routine tasks. You'll be a financial analyst who uncovers critical trends, refines forecasting accuracy, and generates actionable insights to empower strategic decision-making. You'll also be a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating complex financial data into a compelling business narrative that drives informed security investments.
Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with the Protective Services team on business strategy, fostering growth and development
Lead planning processes, providing financial expertise and driving impactful decisions
Deliver regular weekly & monthly reporting that influences security investments and strategic direction
Develop and maintain scalable financial models that empower informed planning, accurate controllership, and clear visibility into key business drivers.
Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support leaders in tackling business challenges and understanding the financial ramifications of decisions.
Demonstrate the agility and resilience to excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, consistently delivering impactful results.
About the team
Amazon Security Finance is a relatively new finance team supporting the consolidated security functions across Amazon. We have a unique opportunity to see across all segments, build our own finance team and processes, and work with amazing business partners whose #1 priority is securing Amazon customers, partners, services, and employees.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos or Essbase), SQL and Data warehouse
Experience working with stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
