Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, Alexa Enterprise Finance in Seattle, Washington

Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member of our Alexa Enterprise Finance team. Alexa is the name of the Amazon cloud service that powers the Echo device family, the groundbreaking Amazon devices designed around your voice. The candidate will provide financial support to business leaders, collaborating with engineering, product management, operations, legal, tax, business development, FP&A, and BI. You will be be a key contributor to the Alexa Enterprise P&L and play a big role in planning cycles. Additionally, you will help define the right models, tools, and mechanisms necessary to address business opportunities, drive automation, and improve internal controls. You will dive deep into the business drivers and use a data-driven approach to influence business decisions with your findings. We are looking for a candidate who will raise the bar for their colleagues, helping establish best practices and drive a positive and engaging team culture.

Key job responsibilities

  • Leads headcount and Non-headcount Opex budgeting for the Alexa Enterprise organization and greater Alexa Business Development team.

  • Leads monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reviews with stakeholders including preparing documents and key analyses.

  • Identifies basic control risks, evaluates impact, proposes changes, and implements improvements to remediate gaps.

  • Delivers weekly/monthly financial close. Uses financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets. Outputs plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.

  • Makes thoughtful time management decisions independently. Prioritizes work, resolves issues, meets deadlines, and seeks feedback from your manager. Discerns between urgent and non-urgent issues and acts accordingly to solve them.

  • Drive automation efforts of existing manual processes and perform ad-hoc analysis as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of Tableau

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
