Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead a team supporting the AWS Messaging and Streaming and File Storage businesses. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing divisions within Amazon. The candidate must operate successfully in a fast-paced, global and results-oriented environment. The successful candidate will lead a team of Finance Managers and Senior Financial Analysts responsible for monthly financial reporting, annual planning processes, go-to-market initiatives, pricing decisions for new product launches, PRFAQs, etc. The leader needs to look beyond the current year model and work closely with the GMs to support growth and introduction of new products.

Key job responsibilities

• Serve as the lead finance partner for the VP of Messaging & Streaming and GMs for that business and the GM of the File Storage business within AWS Services.

• Influence business decisions with effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis and modeling, and presentation of trade-offs and alternatives.

• Lead short- and long-term financial planning.

• Provide strategic support to key business initiatives and investments.

• Provide analysis against budgets and previous periods, identifying risks and opportunities, and effectively communicating results to senior leadership in order to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions; ensuring that timely and accurate metrics and forecasts are created and maintained.

• Lead and develop a team of Finance Managers and Senior Financial Analysts.

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred.

  • Experience managing a team of high performing contributors.

  • Strong business and finance partner experience; experienced in working with multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.

  • Track record of managing deliverables from multiple teams to meet challenging deadlines.

  • The ability to self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment with competing deadlines.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Experience in a technology company or high-tech environment.

  • Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos), SQL and Data warehouse.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
