The Opportunity with McKinstry We are currently seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join our team as a member of our growing Finance and Accounting division in Seattle, WA. If you are someone with experience in preparing and delivering invoices in an accurate and timely manner, provide excellent support to customers and internal business units and have the ability to think analytically and problem solve, then this may be the role for you. In this position, the main focus is on: Compiling and delivering directly to the customer or via various billing portals billing packages per customer-specific requirements, including lien waivers, AIA forms, schedule of values, etc. Managing customer-specific web portals Ensuring timely follow up and resolution of internal and external inquiries Maintaining billing procedure documents Leading efforts to improve efficiencies associated with the billing processes Collecting sub-tier lien releases Assisting with month-end close and annual audit Performing contract/billing reconciliation Representing the Billing team in cross-functional projects and internal training Leading the billing team Conducting new hire training on billing procedures What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry Proven written and people skills that come with a customer-facing role. Takes an active interest in increasing customer happiness and deepening customer relationships. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred. Associate degree (AA) in Business or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 4-6 Years of experience in Accounts Receivable with emphasis on billing/invoicing preferred. Knowledge of automated accounting and construction management software preferred. Construction or similar industry experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required. Strong attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills required. Exceptional time management and prioritization skills preferred.
