About the Role:

The Retail Market Region Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional team member and client experience to achieve balance sheet and revenue goals for multiple regional locations. In addition, integration of digital products and solutions through the Retail delivery channel is essential in this role. The successful development of regional managers and branch leadership teams is an important part of this leader’s responsibilities as well as effective collaboration with business partners throughout the company. Development of marketing and business plans, forecasting and budgeting, as well as team member engagement are also significant objectives. Develops strategies and tactical plans to implement organization-wide projects.

  • Lead and motivate a group of regions to attain or exceed Retail loan, deposit, and revenue growth goals

  • Serve as a role model in the integration of the Bank’s culture in how we serve clients, our people, and our communities, leveraging the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards.

  • Create and foster a culture of exceptional client support and sales for the division.

  • Meet or exceed Market Region production goals

  • Coach and mentor regional managers and team members on career development and succession planning

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of branches and make necessary adjustments to meet all legal, operational, and team member needs by working with regional managers.

  • Collaborate with business partners throughout the organization for the alignment, implementation, and accomplishment of key initiatives, goals, and projects

  • Effectively set, communicate and monitor regional compliance with corporate policy and goals

  • Develop, manage, or lead Retail initiatives in specific areas as assigned.

  • Develop and maintain contingency planning for market area

  • Coordinate and manage expansion or acquisitions of new banking facilities

  • Lead digital integration initiatives and digital competency of the Market Region

  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.

  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

  • Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.

About You:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Minimum 7 years of retail banking regional management experience or the commercial equivalent

  • Lending experience to include understanding of consumer and business credit, loan processes, and management of a loan portfolio

  • Solid understanding of operating and compliance regulations Previous experience in managing multiple retail banking locations

  • Experience with managing sales goals and budgets at multiple branches National

  • Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Bank financials

  • Experience in identifying potential development and implementation of a marketing plan to gain new business and retain existing customers

  • Strong servant leadership skills

  • Competent in digital products and services and able to lead team members and clients through digital enablement.

  • Excellent communication skills over a geographically diverse market

  • Extensive community development experience

  • Ability to manage multiple layers in retail or commercial management

  • Ability to travel

Workstyle: Fully onsite

Our Benefits:

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $175,000.00 to $260,000.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
