Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Paralegal in Seattle, Washington

You will serve as a valuable member of Weyerhaeuser’s law department in the Timberlands, Real Estate, Energy, and Corporate Development group and report to the Senior Legal Counsel/Transaction Team Manager. You will actively participate in the acquisition and disposition of real property and ongoing timberlands management and will have the opportunity to support our M&A and other major projects. You will work across the country with a variety of business leaders. Success looks like a team player, self-starter, creative thinker, with a high attention to detail and ability to see the big picture and challenge conventional thinking.

Location:This role is based in our Seattle Headquarters on a hybrid schedule which requires onsite work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and remote work Monday and Friday.
The Real Estate Paralegal will be responsible for:
- Analyzing, reviewing and preparing appropriate transactional documents for real estate transactions, which may include land sales, acquisitions and easements
- Managing all aspects of real estate transactions, including interacting with purchasers/sellers, service providers, attorneys, agents, escrow and title companies, including document execution
- Critically reviewing and evaluating title reports, exceptions and encumbrances, and preparing title objection letters
- Preparing transaction updates and corrections to company's electronic land title system and property tax departments
- Pursuing post-closing corrective matters and issues
- Organizing and maintaining electronic files
- Reviewing legal documents for execution by corporate officers; keeping current on notarial rules and recording requirements in various states
- Designing, organizing, and managing electronic data sites, including those that maintain due diligence documentation
Education & Certifications: * Bachelor's, Associate's degree, or equivalent experience required; * Paralegal Certificate and/or Bar Association accreditation a plus * JD a plus Experience: * Three or more years of real estate transactional experience in a high-volume law firm environment desired * Corporate transactional experience and title work are a plus * Experience managing timberlands and conservation transactions a plus
Required Skills:
- Ability to coordinate and administer multiple assignments, including basic real estate transactions from initiation through closing, with minimal supervision
- Ability to analyze contract write-ups and generate contracts
- Ability to manage and support large, complex transactions
- Ability to analyze legal descriptions and title matters
- Ability to confidently interact with outside counsel and other service providers
- Must possess excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter, problem solver and team player

The position is on the Timberlands, Real Estate, ENR, and Corporate Development legal team. We are a group of 23 attorneys, paralegals, and land title technicians. We work together to support the complete needs of the various businesses, and to collaborate on new and emerging focus areas as these businesses grow and evolve. Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of 66,700 to $119,00 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% to 7% of base pay based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement:Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
