Property Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing necessary repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work. The role ensures all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and standards, maintains and repairs building equipment and tools, coordinates with external vendors, and keeps detailed logs of all maintenance and repair work. The technician will also implement preventive maintenance measures, respond to emergency repairs outside of normal working hours, and work closely with the building management team to prioritize tasks and projects. Continuous learning and application of the latest best practices in building maintenance are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out necessary repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.

  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and standards to maintain a safe environment for all occupants.

  • Maintain and repair building equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.

  • Be available for emergency repairs or issues that may arise outside of normal working hours.

  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized maintenance tasks and ensure their work meets the building’s standards.

  • Keep detailed logs of all maintenance and repair work for future reference and budgeting purposes.

  • Implement preventive maintenance measures to avoid potential issues and ensure the longevity of the building’s systems and structures.

  • Work closely with the building management team to prioritize maintenance tasks and projects.

  • Stay updated with the latest best practices in building maintenance and apply them as necessary.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards.

  • Proficiency in maintaining and repairing building equipment and tools.

  • Ability to respond to emergency repairs outside of normal working hours.

  • Experience coordinating with external vendors.

  • Strong record-keeping skills.

  • Proficiency in implementing preventive maintenance measures.

  • Ability to collaborate with the building management team.

  • Commitment to continual learning and application of best practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in both commercial and residential building maintenance.

  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.

  • Electrical and mechanical repair skills.

  • Residential plumbing experience.

Work Environment

The position involves an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, with on-call availability for emergencies. Overtime and weekend work may be required as needed.

The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $70720.00
