The ACE team owns and operates Amazon’s compensation and offering applications for Global Talent Management and Compensation (GTMC) worldwide and across platforms. Our mission is to deliver connected experiences for career discovery, movement, and compensation, ensuring they’re intuitive, frustration-free, and readily available for every Amazonian. ACE applications currently consist of New Hire Offer Calculator (NHOC & NOW), Internal Transfer and Movement (TEx, ITW, ITOC), Promotions Compensation Tool, Step Plan System (SPS), Annual Compensation (future annual compensation tool, formerly code-named Anchor), and Variable Compensation Plan (VCP). We also lead Learning and Engagement organization, driving how employees, managers, and HR business partners understand compensation and make decisions through the various lifecycle events (at hire, transfers, becoming a new manager, promotion, annual compensation planning, etc.)

In this role, as the product owner in Internal movement, you will have ownership of the business strategy and influence on the software development roadmap. You will define the employee and manager experience from offer accept to start. You will be expected to create the long-term product vision and roadmap, influence partner teams towards your vision, and determine and build business metrics to help prioritize and drive execution towards the vision. You should be comfortable engaging with all types of customers and stakeholders, and effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audience. The technology we build is backbone of the experience for Amazon's employees worldwide, so the products you own will have cross-team and organization-wide impact. Additionally, we are a part of the Global Talent Management and Compensation, where our Compensation vision and roadmap is critical to supporting our growing, diverse population of employees, as well as powering innovation to support strategic cross-cutting organizational goals.

You will bring a think big mentality, evaluating current business and technical needs to define the work backwards vision and multi-year roadmap priorities in order to support the largest, smartest and most demanding customers on the planet.

You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where delivery time for new products and features is typically measured in months, while building and executing on a long-term product vision.

Key job responsibilities

You define the vision, own the roadmap, and drive the team to execute on that vision

You lead “think-big” initiatives where the opportunity is yet to be defined. You are comfortable with ambiguity and bring clarity to complexity.

You work directly with key stakeholders in the business to understand customer problems, identify innovation opportunities, engage with engineers and collect customer feedback from studies, focus groups and testing.

You are responsible for collecting and documenting product/business requirements and collaborating with technical teams on design options and trade-offs.

You manage product milestones from concept to launch, proactively identify and resolve strategic and tactical issues, provide cross-functional leadership.

You define a prioritization rubric, evaluate the trade-offs, set goals and define success metrics.

You clearly communicate roadmap vision and timelines to deliver core capabilities with associated customer or business benefits to Sr Leaders across business, operations and technical teams.

You lead cross-functional teams (e.g. learn and engagement, UX design, research, software and data engineering, science, pgrm management) to deliver on product development lifecycle milestones.

You seek to understand where science can be integrated and strategically influence how that science can be integrated in talent products and processes

A day in the life

As the single-threaded leader, you will drive the strategy, vision, and roadmap. You will work with stakeholders to define and build Compensation experiences which support our growing diverse Amazon employees, diving into business, compensation policy and technical requirements. You'll work with our Compensation Program, Science and Data team to understand changing business needs and provide technical influence to inform decisions. You will partner with GTMC tech and non-tech partners, seeking to create holistic experiences across Talent and Compensation products. You'll work side-by-side with your Engineering team, evaluating design choices and features.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience as a product manager or owner

  • Experience owning technology products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
