Amazon Principal Technical Program Manager, Amazon Catalog Services in Seattle, Washington

Description

Principal TPM at Amazon owns a very large program. Manages significantly complex cross-functional technology initiatives, works strategic and makes trade-offs: business opportunity vs. resources vs. sustainability. He/She is able to identify risks/opportunities in technical strategies, architecture(s) and or in engineering organization structure(s).

Amazon Selection & Catalog Systems (ASCS) team is seeking a Principal TPM for leading transformation of the organization to use Generative AI technologies for improving data quality for billions of products in the Amazon’s global catalog. The space requires cross-functional engagements and coordinating activity across numerous tech teams. You will drive the overall technology strategy and execution for the organization, as we make a big pivot to apply Generative AI technologies to the largest catalog on the planet.

Ability to deep dive into data and experience with working with very large scale systems will be critical to success in this role. The right candidate will possess the ability to effectively influence across all layers of leadership. Experience with ML is highly desired but not mandatory since the role works closely with Applied Science leaders. You should thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and shouldn’t be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
