Amazon Principal Technical Infrastructure Program Manager in Seattle, Washington

Description

The AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) team is looking for a Principal Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to join the AIS Demand Team. The AIS Demand Team is responsible for the demand signal that is provided to AIS, with a focus on ensuring the signal is aligned with the financial plan, sales and growth projections, agreed upon demand levers, transitions, NPI roadmaps, and prior commits and plan of records. We ensure the signal is captured properly in systems and work with SC.os on related automation plans specific to capturing and reporting on the demand signals. The Demand Team is responsible for 13-103 week Demand Plan of Record (POR) for Server material planning and 0-10 year Demand POR for Data Center planning. They ultimately produce a demand forecast that all supply teams align to. Apart from that, we also partner with services on demand shaping activities.

As a Principal TIPM in the AIS organization, you will play a key role in driving system changes to meet the capacity needs of our customers, and achieve key business goals with little human intervention via a combination of acceleration of various supply solutions and customer driven actions that both optimize use of existing and new infrastructure and where necessary shape the demand. You are an experienced leader who will have demonstrated leading large cross-functional and cross-organizational projects. An ability to take large, technically complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop actionable plans and successfully deliver them are expected. This role is inherently cross-functional and requires the ability to think big and collaborate with others as you work closely with teams across AWS Infrastructure and AWS Service teams (EC2, S3, EBS). The shifting power and permitting constraints and critical nature of the role requires someone who maintains momentum, clarity of vision and adaptability while communicating effectively across a diverse set of customers, partners and leadership. The Principal TIPM must effectively distinguish between one/two way door decisions. Decisions driven by the Principal TPM create significant impact to AWS Infra organization and all of our customers so excellent judgement (based on domain and technical expertise) is required in managing complex problems, tough trade-offs, proposals and escalations.

Communication with executive audiences is a regular occurrence. High judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove roadblocks, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery are therefore essential for success in this role.

The specific programs will focus on representing the Services global demand signal through AWS Infrastructure, and working with partner teams as part of connected programs owned within AIS to ensure AWS Infrastructure expand ahead of customer demand at different time horizons. You will also develop the roadmap for the software and intelligence to scale the engagements, and continue to move faster and smarter by removing manual steps. You will also cast a vision and strategy for other teams in your organization that includes the structure to deliver outcomes independently, and the software required to deliver ahead at scale.
