The School of Dentistry - Department of Oral Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist 2 to join their team. POSITION PURPOSE The School of Dentistry, Department of Oral Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist 2 in our OMCS clinic. The OMCS clinic is a busy clinic in the Health Sciences building. The faculty in OMCS provide treatment to patients with TMJ, Orofacial pain, Nerve and sensory disorders, Movement disorders, Oral Mucosal diseases, Oral cancer, and Sleep Apnea. The OMCS clinic has an important mission in the community, and we are very committed to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Patient Services Specialist 2 will perform a variety of clerical and organizational duties to support the clinic, and work collaboratively as a team with other staff, faculty, and students to help the clinic run smoothly. The PSS 2 will sit at the front desk in the OMCS clinic and greet patients and other visitors to the clinic, and answer telephones and other inquiries.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Schedule patient appointments • scan patient charts • Collate office materials and mail materials to patients • Fax records to outside providers • Communicate with providers via Teams • Set up provider Zoom appointments • Call in prescriptions • Obtain and verify demographic and financial information • Process patient paperwork • Answer telephone and mail inquiries • Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience.
