OPPORTUNITY UW MEDICAL CENTER - NORTHWEST - SPORTS THERAPY has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, day shift, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST / CERTIFIED HAND THERAPIST. WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

  • The Hand Therapist will provide services to patients using specialized skills, including assess, plan, administer, evaluate and provide safe hand therapy.

  • This will include progression of treatment goals and patient and family education.

  • Assess and treat a patient caseload ranging from routine to complex patient problems and situations.

  • Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission to discharge.

  • Implement treatment programs, which include therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, fabrication of orthoses, and evidence-based utilization of physical agents.

  • Instruct, assign work and evaluate students as assigned by supervisor.

  • The Therapist acts as a resource within the Exercise Training Center. WHAT’S NEEDED?

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program

  • Completion of American Occupational Therapy Association certification examination

  • 18 months of professional occupational therapy experience OR equivalent education/experience. WHAT’S DESIRED?
    Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) highly preferred

    LICENSE REQUIRED
    Licensed by the state of Washington as an Occupational Therapist or have a valid probational certificate issued by the state of Washington to practice occupational therapy.
