Blue Origin LLC Non-Destructive Test Technician II- Ultrasonic (UT) (night shift) in Seattle, Washington

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of technicians, you will perform multiple NDT methods for various spaceflight systems. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Responsibilities: Perform ultrasonic inspections using contact, immersion, and phased array ultrasonic methods. Performing ultrasonic thickness measurements of metallic and composite materials. Perform ultrasonic inspections of weldments of various types, such as friction-stir, laser, electron beam, GMAW, etc. Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements. Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawing or shop work order. Perform all necessary daily, weekly, monthly process control checks. Documentation and organization of inspection results. Interface/communicate with employees to describe inspection results. May provide training and guidance to other inspectors. Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 experience in ultrasonic inspection of composites and weldments (Contact, immersion, and/or phased array). Experience working with industry specifications such as ASTM E2375, AMS 2154, ASTM 2700, ASTM E797, ASME BPVC, AMS 2680/2681, ASTM E164, etc. Must be able to pass Ultrasonic General Test within a week of start date, and a Specific Test by week 3 (General Test study materials will be provided if needed). Must certify and maintain a Level II or Level III certification in Ultrasonic Testing. High School Diploma or GED. Ability to work Monday - Thursday, 2nd Shift with occasional overtime. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: Level II or level III UT certification in phased array methods and TOFD Level II experience in eddy current (ET) Level II experience in radiography Experience in low-rate high mix production environment, preferably in aerospace Knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, additive manufacturing, forging, casting and composites fabrication.
