Seattle Children’s Hospital Non-Clinical Internship - Marketing and Communications in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities Seattle Children's has multiple summer internship openings available in a variety of non-clinical departments across the organization. Internships will be offered in a hybrid work format and will occur over a period of up to 10 weeks, beginning in June and ending in August. Interns will work up to 40 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity for students to engage in an inclusive, hands-on learning environment, grow their skills, and gain exposure to a diverse range of career areas at Seattle Children's. As part of this experience, interns will learn to work collaboratively as part of a team, take on substantive projects under the guidance of experienced mentors, cultivate professional networks with peers and leaders, and participate in a range of career development activities. At the conclusion of the internship, all students will prepare a final project for presentation at a formal convening attended by Seattle Children's staff and leaders. Job Posting Addendum JOB SUMMARY: This position is temporary and/or intermittent in nature. Length of service is greater than 100 hours. Requires availability some nights and weekends during the internship. This will be hybrid work experience, requiring an in-person presence approximately 1-2 days per week. Seattle Children's Marketing and Communications Department (MarComm) is a shared service for the Seattle Children's hospital system. MarComm informs and engages internal and external audiences by developing and executing marketing and communication plans and telling compelling stories to advance the goals and priorities of the organization and enhance Seattle Children's brand and reputation. MarComm seeks an intern to assist with the Brand and Creative Services Team. The goals and objectives are to assist with all creative (print, video, web) and paid media tasks. The intern will support the team by assisting with documenting equipment and files, organizing drives, labeling film, structuring our B-roll library with the goal of streamlining editing and video delivery. The intern will also support the team by managing creative project intake via Monday.com, the team's project management tool and delivering project assets to appropriate stakeholders. This experience will provide the intern with an opportunity to learn about the field of marketing and communications and gain exposure to various aspects of creative development, creative production, media planning and buying, video file management, video production and an overall understanding of the use of healthcare video and imagery. An ideal candidate brings curiosity, creativity, and a desire to learn the roles and impact marketing and communications in a healthcare setting. Training will include an orientation to Seattle Children's, MarComm teams and project areas, and related tools. This role will provide meaningful exposure for those interested in exploring a potential career in marketing and communications. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age. Rising senior or recent graduate from local college or technical school. Strong desire to engage with Seattle Children's employees, patients and families, and the community with a focus on inclusion, diversity, equity and access. Event and volunteer experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
