Alaska Airlines, Inc. Manager Software Engineering (multiple positions open) in Seattle, Washington
DUTIES:
Responsible for executing on strategy for digital services. Lead and establish the priorities and people culture for software engineering teams to innovate, support engagement, retention, and safety. Focus on technical and product health by modernizing platform. Partner closely with scrum masters, product owners, product managers, product designers and user experience to define, refine and drive delivery, facilitate and own technical decisions. Lead a team of multi-disciplined software engineers and establish priorities for system technical capabilities. Make decisions related to technical oversight with the team, including architecture, DevOps, coding, and quality assurance practices. Accountable for quality focused software delivery, including new build and implementation of software. Responsible for the team's delivery of robust, scalable, reliable and highly available technical solutions. Work with product owners and managers to assist with product roadmaps. Manage and support evolving Agile software delivery teams, data driven approach and ability to measure delivery performance. Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team, and time management. Shape an inclusive culture of team to attract strong talent while thriving in innovation, rapid technology adoption, continuous improvement, collaborative teamwork, and delivery of quality technology solutions.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree* in Computer Science, or related field or the foreign degree equivalent; and 5 years of software engineering experience, including experience in the following: 2 years of leadership experience; 5 years of experience in software and data structure design, development and architecture; 5 years of experience delivering modern software, apps, or systems at scale for large customer bases; 3 years of experience with large scale iOS application development and deployment; 5 years of experience with current DevSecOps engineering practices; 2 years of experience managing multiple scrum delivery teams; 3 years of experience in critical application support and site reliability engineering; and 2 years of experience managing vendors, contractors, and/or off-shore delivery teams. Experience can be gained concurrently.
*Employer will accept 2 years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a Bachelor's degree in the above fields.
SALARY: Salary of $145,672-$209,500 per year

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
