Amazon Manager, Recalls Logistics Service in Seattle, Washington

Description

We are looking for an experienced Risk Manager to join our Regulatory Intelligence, Safety and Compliance (RISC) team and lead a team of 5-6 geographically dispersed Risk Managers supporting our newly launched Recalls Logistics Service (RLS) offering. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability developing and improving a global program, including developing a strategic roadmap to ensure the right policies, procedures, resources, audit, and reporting mechanisms are in place. You will partner and consult with domestic and international business, legal, finance, and technical teams to scale the program globally, develop robust mechanisms and launch new product features. Key job responsibilities

The successful candidate should have strong business and communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders via data-driven and actionable insights, and capable of working independently in an ambiguous environment.

The successful candidate will also:

  • Manage a growing team of risk managers

  • Responsible for setting the vision, direction and execution of all key deliverables for the WW RLS program

  • Develop and implement solutions to mitigate risk and improve our recalls processes, tools, and customer experience

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and solid understanding of the recalls process and the NA regulatory landscape as it pertains to product safety

  • Continuously identify industry best practices and contribute to the improvement of the program

  • Plan and conduct periodic business reviews with leadership team

  • Embrace the use of data analytics to increase value and reduce costs to serve

  • Manage several large high profile projects simultaneously with precision and accuracy

  • Influence roadmaps, business & technology decisions.

  • Develop key metrics and performance indicators to track progress against business objectives and measure results

About the team

Our goal is to establish Amazon as the world's most reliable shopping platform for safe and compliant products. We are committed to shielding customers from unsafe, illegal, controversial, or policy-violating products, while enabling our Selling Partners to offer a wide range of safe and compliant products. This role is part of the Recalls vertical, which aims to protect Amazon customers from recalled or unsafe products. We do this by removing these products from the market and supply chain quickly and delivering a best-in-class customer experience for notification and remedies after purchasing a product with a potential safety defect.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 8+ years' experience in risk management, program management, or legal

  • Previous experience leading large teams to high levels of performance

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical subject matter to a diverse group of stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes

  • Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship

  • Previous experience creating and contributing to strategic planning processes

  • Previous experience owning a complex risk program, cross functional projects, multiple priorities and work streams

  • Knowledge of the US regulatory landscape pertaining to recalls and product safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, engineering, operations, logistics, supply chain, regulatory, risk management or related field

  • JD, MBA, MS or MA (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Retail, Manufacturing, Law, Public Policy, or Equivalent)

  • 10+ years' experience in program management, risk management, or legal

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

  • Experience at consulting firms or equivalent

  • Experience working on legal, regulatory, or compliance related initiatives

  • Knowledge of the US regulatory landscape pertaining to recalls and/or product safety standards

  • Demonstrated track record of thought leadership related to product safety

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $198,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
