REI Logistics Senior Analyst in Seattle, Washington

The Senior Supply Chain Analyst plays a pivotal role in REI’s success by developing, executing, and optimizing logistics strategies that ensure efficient inventory movement across the distribution network, with a primary focus on DC-to-store deliveries and supporting new store openings. This position is responsible for driving improvements in supply chain processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions that enhance overall network performance. Additionally, the analyst will manage carrier relationships, lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for carrier contracts, and ensure that carriers meet performance and service level expectations.
This role demands a high degree of autonomy in problem-solving and decision-making, including recommending and executing both system and process enhancements. The analyst will be responsible for negotiating and managing carrier contracts, ensuring cost-effective logistics operations, and fostering long-term partnerships with carriers. Collaborating extensively with cross-functional teams, the analyst will ensure seamless inventory flow, troubleshoot complex logistics challenges, and drive continuous improvement in REI’s global supply chain.
The Senior Supply Chain Analyst reports to the Global Logistics Manager and operates with a high level of independence, taking ownership of critical logistics strategies, carrier management, and process enhancements. Strong competence in relevant tools, systems, and programming languages is required to excel in this role, which aligns closely with REI’s values and mission of fostering an agile and efficient supply chain.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Your Planning & Navigating Requirements (the plans the job is responsible for creating and executing, and how the job ensures they are implemented)
Compiles and analyzes business data and metrics using MS Access, MS Excel and SQL tools
Develops and/or refines data collection and analysis tools to measure and manage processes or business metrics
Delivers verbal and written reports of projects or managed business processes using MS PowerPoint and MS Word to document and present the work content
Creates reports monthly or bi-weekly
Monitors costs or service level agreements with internal and/or external clients
Negotiates contracts and service level agreements.
Develops and facilitates the creation of RFP projects and process
Delivers input for new systems or process requirements.
Schedules and Manages Vendor Account Management activities at least once per quarter.
Develops and makes changes to strategy or process based upon data analysis and/or process testing
Assists in the development of new business strategies.
Identifies and leads future strategic projects
Manages medium to large projects of a more complex nature; often in concert with Manager
Creates communication pieces to educate and engage partners in project, process or change management efforts.
Assists junior team members with aspects of their work.
Leads moderately complex aspects of a project and supports managers in leading more strategic efforts.
Solves most problems without assistance
Required Skills & Experience
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Logistics, Distribution, Material Management, and/or Supply Chain from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
7+ years experience in five or more of the following areas of discipline: Transportation Management; Trade & Safety Compliance; Forecast and Replenishment Methodologies; Manufacture or Brand Management Planning; Distribution / Material Handling; Retail Store Product Logistics
3+ years experience with contract review and negotiation
Advanced skills in Microsoft (MS) Excel
Intermediate skills in MS Access, and MS PowerPoint
Intermediate skills and experience with Visual Basic Script and/or SQL, SAP, Manhattan Associates (WM), AS400 i-series

Pay Range
$83,700.00 - $134,000.00 per year
