Storyville Coffee Company Lead Production Baker in Seattle, Washington

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • As the lead production baker, through role modeling, you'll be able to apply your past kitchen hands-on experience to set an inspirational tone for staff.
  • Available as a teaching and training resource for other staff. Leads organize hands-on training for general staff based on the goals set by leaders. 
  • Understand priorities, solve problems & drive results. Support daily management of staff while balancing achieving top priorities. Capable of making time-sensitive decisions by utilizing first-point resolution in staff interactions and production recipe corrections that contribute to the core goals of Storyville and the menu program.
  • Maintain professional communications with all staff and leadership
  • While on shift, lead staff prioritization of daily and weekly tasks and capably lead staff breaks/lunches.
  • Become fluent in our computer operations, including inventory management/auditing, pastry ordering and transfers, and general digital communications (email, messaging apps)
  • Uphold the Storyville brand of service.
Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5-year professional baking/kitchen experience required
  • A culinary degree preferred
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Deep understanding of and demonstrated commitment to delivering an exceptional menu service
  • Commitment to crafting beautiful and inspiring food
  • High-level communicator, both verbal and written
  • Loves work on the mixer, sheeter, and oven
  • Loves working in and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
  • Conducts oneself professionally and with self-respect
  • Be available for an 8 - 10 hour shift
  • Be available for a 5:30 am start at our Bainbridge Island location
  • Passionate about being early and ready for work

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time or the entire shift
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Operate and use all equipment necessary
  • Process information/merchandise through Google Suite
  • Handle food and hot beverages
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the 2-story building
