Blue Origin LLC Laboratory Technician II (First Shift) in Seattle, Washington

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of Technicians, you will help in the integration and test, functional verification, and troubleshooting of propulsion systems and components for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of manufacturing, assembling and testing propulsion hardware. Special Mentions: * Relocation provided * Shifts available: Weekday Day Shift * Hours Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm Additional responsibilities include: 5+ years of proven experience in building and testing of chemical systems Maintain lab machinery, equipment and assist with keeping the lab safe, clean, and orderly Ability to define requirements for safe design and operation of chemical systems Production and maintenance of propulsion hardware and equipment Assist engineers in reviewing design concepts, providing feedback for improvements Use diagnostics techniques for troubleshooting, repair or replace various types of hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and electrical equipment used to conduct tests Familiarity working with assembly fixture tooling Review and follow work instructions for complex mechanical installations Innovate to improve processes and increase efficiency of operations Maintain inventory of parts and equipment for assembly, test, and maintenance of laboratory and testing equipment Working on research and development hardware alongside engineering Flexibility in work schedule, supporting all shifts/OT, as necessary, to support business needs Use of personal protective equipment such as full face respirators Training will start on day shift and will potentially last several months We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Qualifications: Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space! 5+ years' experience in aerospace maintenance and manufacturing Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics Proven understanding of materials and treatments for us with hydrogen peroxide systems Ability to read, understand, and use technical manuals and detailed work instructions Working knowledge of physical and chemical properties and behaviors of acids and bases Solid understanding of fluid components such as valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware, seals, and bearings Experience and comfortability working in a research and development environment Knowledge and experience with personal protective equipment Knowledge in the proper use of different types of aerospace fittings and seals Mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize hand tools, power tools and heavy equipment Use of precision measuring instruments and attention to detail Experience with critical sealing surface requirements Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as be a self-starter Able to cli
