Responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for serving as the primary Registered Nurse delivering care to women who are admitted to the Family Birth Center. This patient population may include low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, including those with:

  • Premature labor

  • Gestational diabetesPreeclampsia

  • Multiple gestation

  • Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:Conducts Maternal-Fetal Assessment.Provides nursing support to the laboring patients, utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management.Provides stabilization and transition of the normal newborn at delivery.Circulates and scrubs for Cesarean Sections.Cares for the post-surgical patient.Assists the anesthesiologist with insertion of an epidural and provides care to the patient with regional anesthesia.Provides care to the High-Risk maternity patient.

Qualifications

We require:

  • A current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License.

  • At least 6 months experience working in a Labor and Deliver environment.

  • Must be willing to float between Postpartum and Labor and Delivery.

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or completion within 3 months of date of hire is required.

  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification required within 3 month of hire.

  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
