Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Health Program Operations Specialist in the Occupational & Environmental Health Clinic. WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 50% FTE, 20 hours weekly

  • Days, Tue, Wed, Fri DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Occupational and Environmental Medicine Clinic at Harborview offers comprehensive services for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of occupational and environmental exposures, illness and injury by board-certified occupational medicine physicians. Each patient receives a detailed exposure assessment and comprehensive clinical testing, as needed. This often involves multi-specialty evaluations, guided by the most up-to-date scientific research.   • Opportunity to provide career growth PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Clinic’s program at a professional level, overseeing the coordination of tailored recommendations and treatment plans for patients

  • Provides direction to staff on necessary interventions and directly engages with patients to offer assessments and explanations when needed. Collaborates closely with attending physicians to provide input and adjust treatment plans as necessary

  • Analyze clinical data, communicate complex clinical issues to attending physicians, and support the medical review process

  • Takes on significant responsibility for the success of the program by developing policies and scheduling protocols that optimize its effectiveness and improve access for patients recovering from disabilities

  • 60% of the role will focus on patient-facing coordination, including reviewing charts, meeting with patients and families, and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to help patients achieve the outcome goals set by the medical team

  • 20% will be dedicated to performing medical reviews of potential incoming patients based on established scheduling guidelines

  • 10% of the role will involve developing guidelines and providing education to Occupational Medicine residents, students, and staff to promote high standards of care and consistency in best practices

  • 10% will focus on monitoring the success of the program, including developing methods to track cases and complications for quality improvement purposes and continuously evaluating program performance

  • Works without judgment with patients/families/caregivers of all ages over 16, socioeconomic class, functional class, ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, and emotional state, including non-English speaking patients, unhoused or low-income patients, patients with mental health or substance abuse issues, patients of nonbinary gender, and patients with complex emotional or physical needs REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional degree in OT, PT, or Speech Therapy

  • At least 4 years of experience in direct patient care

  • Licensed to practice in WA State
