Amazon Finance Transformation Analyst, Accounting Technology Group in Seattle, Washington
Description
This position supports and directly influences the launches of Amazon Accounting's initiatives to support Amazon entities worldwide. Successful candidates will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements and prioritize. Successful candidates will have deep experience in the following three disciplines – Accounting, Program Management, and Finance Systems.
In this role you will be part of a team that collaborates with Accounting and technical teams to deliver world class solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible.
You will be responsible for financial processes, project management, accounting requirements documentation, process design, and user acceptance testing.
This role will work closely with the global financial systems team, accounting operations teams, and others to represent the Accounting organization.
Key job responsibilities
Drive program objectives – provide program management and define project plans, manage implementation activities, and develop processes, documentation and communications for program/process rollout and ongoing support.
Define requirements and work with partner teams to design, implement and launch scalable solutions.
Design processes and procedures that scale with the business’ growth in volume, complexity, and global geographic dispersion.
Communicate new/updated programs and processes to leaders, employees, and cross functional organizations.
Collaborate and build relationships with system and business owners globally to ensure process excellence and the highest degree of controllership.
Negotiate efficient and reliable processes and policies across partner teams to systematically eliminate dependencies and defects.
Work cross-organizationally and functionally to identify key opportunities in process, technical, and human interfaces and developing and implementing plans to capitalize on those opportunities and measure and monitor success and impacts.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
3+ years of program or project management experience
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Experience managing accounting/finance process improvement and/or technology projects with aggressive schedules
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience
Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
Experience supporting accounting/finance customers to set and effectively manage expectations, project deliverables, and drive resolution when conflicts or issues arise
Experience in finance projects, including requirement gathering and testing in environment with distributed systems
Experience managing accounting/finance process improvement and/or technology projects with aggressive schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
