Amazon Finance Manager, Corporate FP&A, Planning & Insights in Seattle, Washington

Within Amazon’s Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis team (FP&A), we enjoy a unique vantage point into everything happening within Amazon. Our team provides strategic support to the CFO, CEO and senior leadership on enterprise-wide planning, analysis, and reporting. As the central place the entire company looks to for an understanding of financial performance, we play a major role in driving company-wide financial processes and business decisions.

In this role, you will support key financial and business reporting routines and process excellence (including automation) projects essential to the heartbeat of Amazon Finance. The position will support multiple Finance leaders and will work closely with Corporate FP&A technology and reporting teams and business unit finance teams.

The successful candidate will be strategic, analytical, solution oriented and have a demonstrated ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, financial analysis, logical reasoning, and presentation of alternatives. Importantly, this role touches the design & delivery of global FP&A processes and thus, the successful candidate will work collaboratively across the organization to deliver against internal stakeholder and customer needs. This role is an individual contributor role, but will have opportunities to lead cross-functional project teams.

You will build partnerships across diverse finance teams, such as the Business FP&A, Reporting, Forecasting and Analysis (RFA) and Global Finance & Technology (GFT) teams, expanding your expertise and honing your collaboration and influencing skills.

Key job responsibilities

• Supports key business deliverables and reporting (such as company goals, company performance documents, operating plan business narratives) for Amazon’s senior leadership team and Board of Directors, working with a multitude of geographically and functionally dispersed teams to drive results.

• Lead and support FP&A process improvement projects including AI-driven automation, collaborating with high performing finance and technology professionals to support our global FP&A process excellence roadmap.

• Engage with a broad range of business unit finance teams for process effectiveness reviews.

• Deliver company-wide analysis and overviews for senior leaders, providing insights on business priorities and outlook.

• Effectively utilize Cognos/TM1 and other company financial systems to support deep dive analysis and results summarization in response to senior leadership needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent

  • 6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

  • Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects

  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning projects for Finance / Accounting functions

  • Project management experience, particularly in developing and implementing large-scale financial systems projects

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
