This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. We are looking for a Test Engineer to support the Lunar Permanence integration and Test (I&T) team, directly contributing to Environmental Control and Life Support (ECLS) Systems. As a Test Engineer III, you will be supporting our mission to return humans to the moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of earth. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities: Apply direct experience to thermal/fluids component and subsystem test planning and execution, which could include development, qualification, acceptance, performance, and environmental testing. Decompose test standards and requirements into discrete executable events. Identify test events, needs and equipment required for test. Maintain fluids test equipment configuration control, calibration, and traceability. Design, procure, and install test support equipment; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation. Troubleshoot anomalies real-time. Participate in gated design and test readiness reviews, pre- and post-test briefings, and post-test reviews. Write test procedures, manage procedural red lines, and incorporate updates during test campaigns. Coordinate support equipment for testing. Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations. Reduce, analyze, and archive test data. Integrate between thermal/fluids subsystems and overall system level vehicle to ensure component level testing compliance with overall vehicle test plans. Minimum Qualifications: BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline. 5+ years of relevant testing experience Solid understanding of pumped fluid loop hardware such as pumps, cold plates, radiators, valves, heat exchangers, etc Experience reading P&ID schematics/layout designs Familiarity with environmental control and life support systems. Demonstrated experience building and testing hardware. Experience with test facility instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control Systems. Understand the Test Like You Fly assessment and exception process. A strong safety record. Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills. Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
