UW Medicine Enterprise Records and Health Information (ERHI) Records and Information Governance (RIG) has an outstanding opportunity for a DOCUMENT INTEGRITY GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE ANALYST WORK SCHEDULE

  • Hours TBD

  • Mondays - Fridays

  • Hybrid, 1-2 days in office per week POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • This position is responsible for planning and implementing quantifiable business solutions for ensuring the integrity of healthcare records and content, in collaboration with clinical and IT Stakeholders

  • This position is the Subject Matte Expert (SME) for healthcare related information and acts as internal consultant for the content integrity of UW Medicine’s electronic health record.

  • This position is responsible for assisting to ensure UW Medicine digital assets are managed, accessible, retained and/or destroyed in keeping with retention requirements and incorporating information governance principles such as accountability, integrity and accessibility in the workflow. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Enterprise Records and Health Information (ERHI) Records and Information Governance (RIG) is a Shared Service Department that supports all aspects of the patient medical record from governance, integrity, documentation timeliness, completion, clinical coding, billing, release, and tracking to management of access, retention, and destruction. ERHI and RIG provides advice and resources related to the lifecycle management of all UW Medicine records. ERHI is an integral part of the Enterprise Revenue Cycle and has a unique role in the organization that supports both clinical and operational activities. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs regular audits of the electronic health record (EHR) to ensure quality and to audit for compliance with regulatory requirements such as Joint Commission, Department of Health, and CMS

  • Uses knowledge of medical records content and structure to provide leadership with regular audit reports on classification of records into the EHR in support of the health record quality and content integrity. Develop and implement a program for auditing of the EHR to ensure quality and integrity of the EHR and adherence to standards of classification

  • Implement and oversee a quality assurance program for EHRI scanning department to ensure the integrity of the patient record

  • Manages UW Medicine forms and the forms repository, including staffing a forms governance process that ensures forms are standard, necessary, and legal. Provides governance over UW Medicine E-signature forms ensuring paper and electronic versions are mapped to the same document type in the medical record for continuity REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BS in Health Information Management or Computers or related field

  • Four to five years knowledge and experience using electronic health records systems and quality assurance; experience using Epic and Cerner EHR and OnBase and Kofax Document Scanning Systems. Understanding of laws and accreditations governing healthcare; knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH; knowledge of medical terminology; strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing; critical thinking skills required; competent in MS Office suite; ability to build consensus and work collaboratively; ability to learn quickly and work independently; ability to meet deadlines under pressure in a high volume environment; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to lift 20 lbs.

  • Valid WA state drivers license

  • Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirement.
