We are seeking a leader with experience enabling high performing, cross-functional teams. This role requires an ability to both partner with and support work on behalf of senior leaders in Store Concepts and Design and across the enterprise.

As a director of Business Operations , you will…

  • Lead business planning activity in partnership with functional business operations leaders in Store Development, and Store Operations throughout the year. This includes long-term strategic planning as well as operational and financial planning exercises.

  • In partnership with the Store Concepts & Design finance and PRO (Human Resources) teams, support organizational strategies that assure financial, and partner commitments are met. This includes but is not limited to cost analysis and reporting, organizational design, and talent strategies.

  • Lead “rhythm of the business” strategy and execution for the Store Concepts & Design leadership team in harmony with enterprise tempo (e.g., North America Business Reviews; CEO Business Reviews, Global Business Reviews).

  • Lead the strategy and execution of Store Desing & Concepts performance reporting in partnership with the enterprise transformation team, finance, and functional business operations leaders.

  • Bring a leadership voice to the Starbucks enterprise network of business operations leaders and continuously work to elevate the standard for value delivered through this role.

  • Manage and facilitate Store Design & Concepts Leadership Team, director+, and “Town Hall” forums, influencing leader collaboration, development, and engagement.

  • In partnership with the executive assistant, proactively support the svp and extended leadership team with communications and meeting preparation, both within Store Design & Concepts and cross-functionally with Store Development, Store Operations and other key partners through the organization (i.e., Brand, Partner & Customer Solutions). This includes Board of Director and Investor communications.

  • Lead enterprise risk management (ERM) and internal audit (IA) coordination for Store Design & Concepts.

  • Facilitate leadership development opportunities, including quarterly Store Design & Concepts leadership team onsite / offsite sessions and external guest speakers.

  • Serve as the Store Design & Concepts lead point-of-contact for systems and tools that support planning processes, including Starbucks Portfolio Management (SPM) program management toolset.

  • Partner with PRO in assuring the continuous improvement of Store Design & Concepts partner experience through actions informed by periodic partner experience surveys (PES).

  • Partner with Starbucks global markets to convene regular sharing opportunities with Store Design & Concepts leadership team.

  • Continuously reinforce the vision, purpose, and strategy of the Store Design & Concepts organization and across the enterprise.

  • Other strategic projects as defined by the evp and leadership team.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • 8+ years: Superb and succent communications skills, including the development of presentation material for large organizations and senior leadership teams.

  • 8+ years: Strong proficiency in program and project management with proven ability to stay organized across multiple competing priorities.

  • 8+ years: Analytical skills with proven ability to digest large, complex data sets to pull out key themes and potential courses of action (informed recommendations) for senior leaders.

  • 8+ years: Ability to function effectively and collaboratively in a highly ambiguous environment, with the flexibility to change course as required to respond to new situations quickly and decisively.

  • 8+ years: Strong meeting management and facilitation skills, leveraging hybrid working tools; ability to flex style to different audiences across mediums to yield desired objectives/outcomes.

  • 8+ years: Cross-functional leadership experience in large, matrixed organizations with ability to influence and drive change across organizational boundaries.

  • 8+ years: A passion for people and desire to help partners and the organization thrive

  • 8+ years: Ability to lead and leverage resources across the organization to deliver results, through influence and process
