Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth The Enterprise Data Management & Analytics team supervises the platform and data management capabilities that enable analytics, data engineering, and data science across the company. We are constantly innovating in the ways we are automating and accelerating the creation of products using innovative software and hardware technologies. We use the latest AWS technologies, big data approaches, and ML to build distributed, highly available systems to achieve our goals. Our team is looking for outstanding Data Scientists who love listening to our customers, working as a team, and proactively taking the lead. This role will enable value capture from machine learning that will have a measurable impact on the delivery of Blue Origin rockets and systems! Influence the design, implementation, and deployment of successful, enterprise-scale systems and services. What You Will Be Doing Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure to support ML Designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and tested code in Python and other applicable languages and library tools Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes Deploying Machine Learning (ML) to large production environments Working towards continuous learning in the AI and computer vision fields Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and 'fixes' Working with data scientists and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended Share knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering standard methodologies We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to impact safe human spaceflight positively. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Qualifications 3+ Years of Experience Working in a Data Scientist or Statistician Role Proven expertise in Python, R or Scala Expertise leveraging MLOps methodology in Azure, AWS, or GCP Experience coaching Jr Data Scientists and leading complete data science projects end-to-end Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying statistical learning/machine learning techniques with significant business outcomes Expertise with git/version control and build/release pipelines. Strong theoretical and practical background in NLP including experience with innovative LLM architectures optimized for handling large contexts and low inference cost Proficiency in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.) and libraries commonly used in NLP and Generative AI. Obsession with quality and customer experience - attention to detail coupled with the ability to think abstractly Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or experience commensurate with education requirements. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion Desired: Expertise in RDBMS and Big Data environments such as Databricks Knowledge
