Global Services brings together experts and capabilities across Training and Certification, Professional Services, Support and Managed Services, Global Services Security, and our global community of over AWS Partners to help organizations across every industry move faster and do more with AWS. Product Marketing is responsible for developing crisp, highly differentiated positioning and messaging for AWS and its services. We tell AWS’s most important and interesting stories to educate customers about what is possible with AWS Cloud. We are seeking a Customer Reference Manager to help us tell AWS’s most important and interesting stories to educate customers about what is possible working with Global Services offerings.

As the Global Services Customer Reference Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering customer references and content. You will have a firm understanding of our audiences and identify success stories which demonstrate how AWS customers at different phases of their journey with AWS use Global Services to transform their businesses. A key focus of this role will be around creating customer-facing reference materials and content, including case studies, presentations, and videos. Content will be geared toward story-telling through use cases and the business outcomes. You will need to look at this through multiple lens keeping in mind the targeted personas based on the stage they are at in their journey. This is a hands-on position that is perfect for a skilled marketer who enjoys developing, curating, and advising customer reference programs and content. The ideal candidate will have experience executing customer reference content, program management skills, and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Key job responsibilities

Identify customer success stories and cultivate references across a variety of customers/personas.

Develop relevant, technically accurate reference assets and marketing materials in a variety of content mediums (case studies, presentations, videos).

Produce materials that clearly communicate value proposition and aligns with our brand.

Edit all customer references content to ensure proper AWS messaging, tone, and voice.

Ensure all customer references content and copy developed by internal writers, freelancers, or third-party agencies maintains consistency in voice, messaging, accuracy, and meets our high standards.

Evaluate, measure and report on strategic effectiveness and ROI for overall program efforts.

Work effectively across teams within marketing, product, and sales to achieve joint business goals.

Manage multiple priorities as an independent, self-starter with excellent time management within a rapidly evolving business.

A day in the life

The Global Services product marketing team works on creating compelling positioning, messaging, and content to support launches and campaigns that drive awareness, preference, and adoption of people services and technology. We all have a bias for action for developing awesome marketing assets (e.g., messaging, success stories, blogs, presentations, videos, collateral, enablement resources). We all work together and pick each other up when workloads shift. This helps us manage time and juggle multiple priorities to execute high-quality deliverables. We enjoy supporting a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly cross-functional organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing budgets

  • Experience managing external partners to develop marketing programs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $155,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
