Description

We are in search of a dedicated Controller to become a part of our team. This hybrid role (remote primary) will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, cash receipts, payroll, and balance sheet account reconciliations. The role also involves directing the activities of the accounting staff to ensure accurate financial transactions. This role is situated in Seattle, Washington, 98112, United States.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the recording of financial transactions and ensure their accuracy.

• Supervise the accounting staff and guide their day-to-day activities.

• Manage and maintain detailed subsidiary ledgers for grant receivable, fixed assets, prepaids and debt.

• Oversee accounts payable processing and ensure efficiency.

• Direct the reporting and accounting for all grants and contracts.

• Assist in the preparation of organizational business tax reporting.

• Oversee daily operations and processing of payroll department.

• Maintain organized records and files to document financial transactions.

• Develop, document, and maintain financial policies and procedures.

• Participate in system testing during software migration and help to troubleshoot issues.

• Prepare and/or upload payroll journal entries and maintain accurate records.

• Work with auditors and the accounting team on annual financial statement and federal compliance audits.

• Manage processes and reporting for grant timekeeping and payroll allocations.

Requirements • Proficiency in using Abila MIP software for financial management.

• Extensive experience in budgeting, able to develop and maintain annual budgets effectively.

• Expertise in Excel, including the ability to create complex financial models and reports.

• Knowledge and experience in conducting financial audits, ensuring legal compliance and financial accuracy.

• Proven ability in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
