Mon - Fri DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Capacity Management Assistant Director leads ambulatory capacity management operations and the team for UW Medicine’s Enterprise Access & Innovation team. The Capacity Management Assistant Director is a subject matter expert for capacity management. Externally, the Capacity Management Assistant Director engages with other health systems and organizations to both learn and develop industry leading practices for capacity management. Internally, the Capacity Management Assistant Director partners closely with UW Medicine’s Information Technology department and supports liaising between the Ambulatory division and similar leaders across UW Medicine. The Capacity Management Assistant Director also convenes and leads cross-functional teams to support and oversee guidelines, ensure protocols are followed, provide education, data analyses and liaises between UW Medicine departments and capacity management operations teams. The role should promote and champion data-driven capacity management operations across UW Medicine related to provide scheduling and efficiency and patient flow.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and lead initiatives to improve access to care that aligns with UW Medicine’s mission and capacity management strategy
Lead a team to serve departments and clinicians with access operations including assigning work and tasks, establishing targets, and ensuring the team is accountable for services provided
Work in partnership with UW Medicine Shared Services leaders and management to facilitate the best experience for patients through workflow and schedule management
Supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing areas of responsibility, planning, prioritizing, training, and/or directing the responsibilities of employees REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, healthcare informatics, healthcare administration, operations research, computer science or equivalent
7 years of experience in applied analytics, information technology business intelligence and/or data management, preferably in healthcare
5 years of experience leading and managing teams
In-depth knowledge of Ambulatory operations and Epic Cadence application
Expertise in analytics and business intelligence tools including SQL
Proven experience in capacity management, security analytics, or a related field
Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams to achieve goals
Experience developing and implementing organizational performance metrics/KPIs
Excellent communication skills at all levels within an organizationOR
Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as licenses/certification/registration.
